The Blanchard family arrived in Charleston and constructed their first building here in 1817. This is the 200th year that the Blanchard family has been in the construction industry in Charleston. It has been passed down from father to son through 7 generations. Mike Blanchard has renovated buildings that his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather built.
The below picture is of the Old Officers Quarters on Sullivan’s Island. It was built by John E. Blanchard, Mike’s great-grandfather, in 1905 and was restored by Charles Blanchard Construction in 2007.
